The atmosphere was relatively calm on this warm summer evening, allowing me to obtain a nice clear image of the ringed planet.
In the bottom image, six of Saturn's moons are visible. This is a composite image. Longer exposures were needed to capture the faint moons and as a result Saturn was greatly overexposed, so a more suitable image of Saturn was layered on top of the image of the moons.
Roll over the lower image to see the names of the moons.
Image details: Stack of 750 video frames taken with a Canon T6i camera through a 14-inch Meade LX850 telescope and a 2x barlow lens, yielding f/16. For the moons, 20 0.5-second exposures were stacked.
