Saturn and 6 of its moons are visible. Under good viewing conditions, all of these moons can be seen with medium to large amateur telescopes. It is interesting to watch their positions change day by day, or even hour by hour.
This is a composite image: The image of Saturn is based on a video with short exposures, but longer exposures were needed to capture the much dimmer moons. Roll over the image to see the names of the moons.
Image details: Saturn image is from a stack of 360 video frames taken with a Canon T6i camera through a 14-inch Meade LX850 telescope at f/16. For the moons, eight 1-second exposures were stacked.
