Galaxy Group in Pegasus NGC 7385 is an elliptical galaxy, The bright oval in the center of this image. It is the largest galaxy in a group that includes five other NGC galaxies and several smaller and dimmer ones. This is a distant group, some 380 million light years away (which is about 150 times farther away than M31, the Andromeda Galaxy). Despite their distance, several of the brightest galaxies can be seen through medium to large amateur telescopes. What can't be seen through the eyepiece of an amateur telescope are at least 100 smaller and more distant galaxies that you can see in this image (or more easily in this larger version) if you look closely. All the objects that appear slightyl fuzzy (whether round or oblong) are probably very distant galaxies. NGC 7385:
