Open Cluster in Lacerta

NGC 7243 is a large and sprawling open cluster of about 70 stars. The stars seem to collect in several groups, giving the cluster a disorganized appearance. It is situated in a section of the Milky Way in the small constellation Lacerta, the lizard. In the center of the cluster is a double star, Struve 2890, two matching blue-white stars of 9th magnitude.
