Open Cluster in Monoceros

Star-hop chart
At a distance of about 12,000 light years, this group is far away compared to most of the open clusters frequently observed through backyard telescopes. Its stars are not especially bright (magnitude 11 and dimmer), but they are densely packed, especially toward the center of the cluster.
