Elliptical Galaxy in Virgo

This is nice bright member of the Virgo galaxy cluster. Its smooth and featureless glow is typical of elliptical galaxies. A foreground star of magnitude 12 is visible just to the east (left) of the galaxy's center.
Other nearby galaxies include NGC 4492 near the upper left corner and NGC 4470 to the lower right.
